What is the Festival of Sport?

The Festival of Sport has been developed in association with the Surrey Hills Challenge and is a free to enter event on Sunday 23rd September 2018.

The Surrey Hills is an outstanding area for outdoor sport and exercise and the Festival of Sport aims to showcase this and demonstrate the many types of different activities people can get involved with, from horse riding, running and cycling to orienteering, walking and art. It will also have food and drink, sports retailers and is the finish village for the Surrey Hills Challenge.

The Surrey Hills Challenge is one of the biggest sporting challenges in Surrey where people of all ages and fitness can participate in one of six walking or running challenges ranging from 60k to 1k.

Where is the Festival of Sport taking place?

The event is set in the beautiful vineyards of Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking (RH5 6AA).

When is the event?

Sunday 23rd September 2018.

What time does the Festival start and finish?

The Festival of Sport is open from 09:00 - 19:30 with the main activities taking place between 10:00 and 16:00. The event is open to everyone with activities suitable for all ages and abilities.  

Is there an entry fee?

The Festival is free to enter with a mix of free and paid for activities.

How can I get to and from the Festival?

There is free parking available at Denbies Wine Estate and regular public transport links from Dorking train station which is a five minute walk to Denbies.

Is the event suitable for people with disabilities?

The Festival of Sport is situated on a field which is accessible for wheelchair users and those with disabilities. Disabled toilets and change facilities are available onsite. Can I bring my own food and drink?

Picnics are welcome however, Denbies offer a full complement of catering options where visitors will be able to purchase food, drinks and other refreshments.
