Hooves

The Surrey Hills offers a truly spectacular venue to horse ride. With extensive rights of way, open commons, sunken lanes, easy access, picnic sites, attractive market towns and villages and outstanding scenery, it is a must destination for any rider.

The Festival of Sport is delighted to be partnering with the following groups:

BHS

The British Horse Society will introduce everyone to the enjoyment of horse riding and show how we can all enjoy the Surrey Hills together safely. Their exhibition will be full of information and also feature their mechanical horse which is life-sized, takes every different type of saddle, has six paces and is sensitive to leg, hand and seat pressure. The simulator is perfect for anyone interested in horse riding. Surrey Hills

Surrey Hills Equestrian Group will be putting together a short display with two ponies that the public can meet. The team will be advising on how to approach and pass horses on a bridleway, and the fact that a horse and pony can actually move sideways quite fast. They will also show how to open and close a gate on horseback and show the best way for other users of the Hills to pass them safely. Demonstrations will take place in the Arena at 10:00 and 14:45

Dashing Donkeys

Dashing Donkeys continues the wonderful tradition of donkey racing that has been going on for many years across many countries across the globe including the Americas, India, Africa, Ireland and the UK. The team will have 6-8 donkeys at the Festival and children under 9 stone can take a ride.
